Activate geofencing via IFTTT
The clever features of your Wiser smart thermostats can be enhanced further via IFTTT integration. Link your Wiser system with other apps and services to set up ‘triggers’ and ‘actions’, helping you create bespoke commands.
What is IFTTT?
IFTTT stands for If This Then That, and is a third-party digital automation tool for connecting apps, services and smart devices together to enhance your smart home.
Can IFTTT automate your heating?
Yes! If This Then That thermostat control (IFTTT) allows you to connect the Wiser app to other apps to set unique commands, automating your smart heating and Smart Plugs to suit your lifestyle. Try automating some of our smart modes using geofencing to save energy when you’re out.
Just follow these steps to start enjoying heating control using IFTTT with your Wiser system.
1. Register for an IFTTT account
You can start using IFTTT to control your smart thermostats today. Create a free account either online or download the IFTTT app available on IOS and Android smart devices to get started.
2. Link your Wiser account with IFTTT
Now simply connect your Wiser account with IFTTT within settings.
3. Visit the IFTTT Wiser integrations channel
Then visit the Wiser Home integrations channel on the IFTTT website and you’re ready to start using the ready-made Applets or create your own recipes.
IFTTT integration is currently focused around Away Mode as an end action. This can be activated by a variety of triggers such as geofencing. Explore the full range of Applets now on the IFTTT website.
IFTTT Stands For IF This Then That
If you’re unfamiliar with IFTTT thermostat control, you can create personalised commands based on 'triggers' and 'actions' within minutes.
Link Wiser to your IFTTT account and download applets to turn Away Mode ON when you leave the house, and OFF on your return.
Once Away Mode is ON, Wiser automatically reduces all set-points to the Away Mode levels you've chosen in the Settings menu. By turning the heating down automatically, it saves you energy and money without needing to interact with the app.

IFTTT, which stands for If This Then That, is an Internet of Things (IoT) platform which Wiser can integrate with to provide enhanced functionality. IFTTT lets you link smart products together to create new actions.
For example, connect Wiser to your free IFTTT account and download the Wiser 'Applets'. Applets connect two or more services together and help you do something that you couldn't do with just one service alone.
For added convenience, use IFTTT to activate Away Mode via gefencing whenever you leave the house.
These triggers and subsequent actions are called ‘recipes’, and can be set-up between Wiser and any other smart device with IFTTT integration. Download ready-made Applets with specific functions on the Wiser IFTTT page to get you started.
