How to set up voice-controlled smart heating
Follow these simple steps below to start enjoying hands-free control of your heating and smart plugs using Alexa voice commands.
Connect Alexa to Wiser
After setting up the Wiser smart heating system, select Skills & Games in the Alexa app. Search for Wiser Home and select Enable Skill, enter your Wiser log-in to connect your account, and you're done!
Check & override heating with Alexa
It's easy and hands-free, try "Alexa, what's the temperature in the living room?" and "Alexa, turn the hot water on". You can ask Alexa to tell you what the temperature is in each zone and adjust accordingly.
Use Alexa with smart plugs
Alexa can control smart plugs by Wiser, it's as simple as "Alexa, turn the lamp on". Add Wiser Plugs to your system and control them with the Wiser Home app or voice commands for total smart home convenience.

How do I connect an Amazon Alexa device to Wiser?

What Amazon Alexa devices will work with my Wiser system?
The Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap, and Fire TV with Voice Remote will all work with Wiser systems.
What Alexa voice commands can I use with Wiser?
A few examples of the types of commands that will work are below. Words in brackets are interchangeable with your room names and desired temperatures.
Discover devices:
- "Alexa, discover devices"
Control the hot water
- "Alexa, turn on the hot water"
- "Alexa, turn off the hot water"
- "Alexa, is the hot water on"
Control a thermostat:
- "Alexa, set (living room) temperature to (20) degrees"
- "Alexa, increase the bedroom temperature" (this will default to a 1°C increase if a temperature isn’t specified)
- "Alexa, decrease the temperature by (1°C)"
Can I change the name of my rooms for easier voice control?
Yes, to edit the name of any room open the Wiser Home app, go to settings and select the ‘Rooms and Devices’ option from the menu. In this screen, you can select the room you want to edit from the list of available rooms. You can even add new rooms from this screen if you want to.
Once you have renamed your room you’ll need to tell Alexa to “Sync my devices”.
How long to changes made via voice command override my schedule for?
All changes requested using voice commands are valid for one hour or until the next scheduled event.
