Drayton by Schneider Electric Welcomes the Heat and Buildings Strategy
At Drayton by Schneider Electric, the brand behind Wiser, we welcome the Government’s Heat and Buildings Strategy published today. Buildings are responsible for 20% of all UK carbon emissions, therefore this Strategy is an essential step on the UK’s road to Net Zero by 2050. With COP 26 just around the corner, the policies announced today demonstrate the UK’s desire to lead from the front in tackling climate change, and we look forward to seeing them followed through.
We're committed to a Net Zero future, making our supply chain net zero itself by 2025 and we're prepared to be completely transparent with our customers, installers, partners and homeowners about our path to more sustainable business. Having recently been recognised as the most sustainable corporation in the world, Schneider Electric is leading the way not only in reducing emissions, but in supporting others to do the same. We’re investing in the innovative products that will be required to decarbonise domestic heat in the UK and are working closely with our partners and installers to ensure that the supply chain is ready to deliver.
As discussed at a recent sustainability press event at Tottenham Hotspur Football Stadium, Drayton by Schneider Electric is supportive of the Government’s commitment to support the roll out of heat pumps through the provision of £5,000 up front grants. Our smart heating control products lower the running costs and increase the efficiency of heat pumps, saving money for the homeowner.
Reducing emissions from homes presents a significant global challenge and a wide range of technologies will be required including heat pumps, hydrogen, and electric heat networks. But regardless of where the energy comes from, energy efficiency will be key, and we are pleased to see that recognised within the Government Strategy.
We are committed to working with our customers and installers to make sure we are all prepared for a Net Zero future.
